Welcome to Your Family Support Community

Self-Assessment

Understanding how your loved one’s substance use and mental health disorder is affecting you and your family will help you decide what you want to focus on during your CRAFT Connect Family Support study.

Before attending your first CRAFT Connect session we strongly encourage you to take 5 minutes and complete these evidence based self-assessment surveys.

Entering your name, email address and hitting the “SUBMIT” button at the end of each survey downloads the completed survey and sends it to you. Having a record of your thoughts will increase your understanding and help you learn. As you progress through CRAFT Connect you will be able to measure that progress.

Invitation to Change

If you love someone who is misusing substances, it is likely that you want to help, and that you want things to change. You may have been told to detach, use “tough love,” or work on your “codependency.” The Invitation to Change Approach® (ITC) challenges stigmatizing, ineffective messages about substance use.

The reality is you can be a part of your loved one’s life, and you can have a positive impact. You can motivate them in a way that will help them change. We share evidence-based skills to help you find a way to support your loved one that feels right and because we know this is a difficult journey, we encourage self-compassion and self-care.
