The Launch: The Transition from Dependent Child

to Independent Young Adult

During the teen years, your child became more independent in making their decisions. Some of this was much to your chagrin. As a young adult they are still making decisions and should be progressing to becoming financially independent and self-sufficient. 

As a parent, there is much you can do to help (or hurt) your young adult child’s launch into adulthood. If a young adult you care about is struggling please watch Tom Dozier’s “The Launch” series of videos to learn how you can more effectively support them. Regardless of how they are doing, as a family member or Concerned Significant Other (CSO), you can have a positive influence and build or repair your relationship.
